Roll D4, D6, D8, D10, D12 and D20 — any number of dice

About this tool

This free online dice roller lets you roll any number of D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, or D20 dice simultaneously. Each die is rolled independently, and you see individual results alongside the total, average, highest, and lowest rolled values. A history of recent rolls is tracked for the session. Roll animations make the result feel satisfying and physical.

Polyhedral dice (the D4 through D20 set) are the foundation of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Call of Cthulhu. In D&D 5th Edition: D20 is used for ability checks, attack rolls, and saving throws; D6 is the most common damage die; D8 is used for longswords, healing word, and hit dice for several classes; D10 determines percentage rolls and some weapon damage; D12 is used for greataxes and barbarian hit dice; D4 is used for daggers and magic missile.

Beyond RPGs, dice have practical uses in education (probability demonstrations, classroom games), board games, statistical exercises, and creative writing (using a dice roll to determine story elements). A D6 is the standard game die used in Monopoly, Yahtzee, Backgammon, and most board games. Two D6 rolls have a well-known probability distribution — 7 is the most likely total (6 ways to roll it out of 36 combinations), which is why 7 is so important in craps.

Online dice rollers are particularly useful when physical dice are unavailable, when playing via video chat, or when you need a large number of dice quickly (e.g., rolling 10d6 for a fireball spell). The random number generator used here produces uniformly distributed results equivalent to a perfectly fair physical die.
