About this tool

This free percentage calculator solves the three most common percentage problems in a single tool. First: what is X% of a number? (e.g. what is 15% of $85?). Second: what percentage is one number of another? (e.g. 34 out of 40 is what percent?). Third: what is the percentage change between two values? (e.g. a price that went from $120 to $150 increased by 25%).

Percentages appear everywhere in daily life — sales tax, restaurant tips, discount calculations, test scores, nutrition labels, interest rates, investment returns, and population statistics. Knowing how to move between percentage and raw values is one of the most practical math skills you can have, and this calculator handles all three directions instantly as you type.

A common confusion is the difference between percentage points and percent change. If an interest rate goes from 2% to 3%, that is an increase of 1 percentage point but a 50% change in the rate itself. This calculator computes the percent change — divide the difference by the original value and multiply by 100.

All three calculators run independently on the same page. Scroll down to the formula you need, enter your numbers, and the answer appears immediately. No button to press, no signup, no ads.
