Work Hours Calculator
Total weekly hours worked per day with optional overtime pay
About this tool
This free work hours calculator totals up your weekly hours by taking clock-in and clock-out times for each day of the week, subtracting optional break time, and giving you the grand total. Add your hourly wage to see your estimated weekly gross pay and how much of it comes from overtime.
Under the US Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), non-exempt employees must receive overtime pay at 1.5× their regular rate for all hours worked beyond 40 in a single workweek. This calculator applies that rule automatically — regular hours are paid at your base rate, and overtime hours are highlighted and calculated separately at the time-and-a-half rate.
Hourly workers, freelancers, and contractors commonly use this tool before submitting timesheets or invoices. It is also useful for employees who want to verify their paycheck, managers reviewing team timecards, and job seekers comparing hourly vs. salaried offers. For salaried workers, the companion Salary Calculator converts annual pay to an effective hourly rate.
Enter times in 12-hour (AM/PM) or 24-hour format. Leave a day empty if you did not work that day — the calculator skips blank rows automatically. The weekly total, overtime flag, and estimated gross pay all update in real time.
